Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) will host the 2020 (2nd) Jinji Lake International Piano Competition (JLIPC) in SIP from Nov 27 to Dec 6. The event is open to global young pianists aged between 16 and 28. Application is acceptable now, and pianists can email their application documents to piano@szsorch.com, and acquire more information about the competition at http://www.szsorch.com/ (Chinese) or http://en.szsorch.com/ (English). The winners will receive money award together with opportunities to join SZSO’s performances.

SZSO hosted the 1st JLIPC in 2017 with the purpose of offering global young pianists a chance to showcase their talents. The event gathered 44 contestants from 13 countries including the United States, France, Russia, Republic of Korea, Canada and China. Yeon-Min Park, the champion from the ROK, joined SZSO’s concerts in 2018, and Han Jiahao, the only Chinese contestant who advanced to the final, is now a student at Juilliard School, a private performing arts conservatory in New York City, the United States.

This year’s event will consist of an opening concert, preliminaries, quarter-finals, the final and the award ceremony. The jury panel will be composed of Chinese and overseas professionals who are well known in the piano music world.
