Suzhou No.2 Workers’ Cultural Palace will host Space Day of China 2021: Science Popularization Week tour from May 20 to 24.
With an area of some 1,000 square meters, the exhibition hall is divided into 10 sections and showcases China’s major scientific and technological achievements in such fields as lunar exploration program, manned space program, BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, etc.
The highlight of the exhibition is the genuine “lunar soil”. Visitors can watch the samples through a revolving magnifying glass. The Chang’e-5 probe returned to Earth in last December and brought back a total of 1,731 grams of lunar samples, which were the country’s first samples retrieved from an extraterrestrial body.
Apart from such precious exhibits as lunar samples, the Chang’e 5 returner, the main parachute for the returner, etc., the models of Chang’e 1 to 5 probes and Tianwen 1 probe as well as their detailed information can also be seen on site.
In addition, the exhibition will show pictures to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of The Communist Party of China and the 65th Anniversary of the Founding of China’s Space Industry. Suzhou’s achievements in aerospace industry will be on display as well.
The event kicked off this morning and will last until May 24. It will be opened to the public after May 22.
