Did Suzhou primary school students win prize at World Robot Contest?

Yes.

The finals of the 2025 World Robot Contest, hailed as the "Olympics of Robotics," recently concluded in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. Amid fierce competition among over 25,000 top young participants from 21 countries, contestants from Suzhou Jinchang Experimental Primary School stood out with their solid technical skills and seamless teamwork, ultimately winning first prize in the MakeX Explorer Digital Pioneer category.

The World Robot Contest has been held ten times consecutively since its inception in 2015. It has attracted over 500,000 young participants from more than 20 countries, solidifying its reputation as a top-tier global robotics event. The 2025 Finals witnessed exceptionally fierce competition in categories of the BCI Brain-Controlled Robot Competition and the Youth Robot Design Competition, with events such as Brain-Controlled Flight, Robot Combat, Embodied AI Challenge, and Ground-Air Synergy Challenge.

The outstanding achievements of the primary school's team stem from systematic training and long-term, rigorous preparation. The team comprises 26 members from Grades 3 to 6, who undergo tiered training through weekly courses. Equipped with professional facilities and dedicated training spaces, they progressively hone their technical skills and develop mental resilience. Additionally, the team regularly invites external experts for specialized guidance, ensuring students continuously expand their technical horizons and improve their hands-on capabilities.

The team fully translated their school training into exceptional performance at the finals, demonstrating precise execution, adaptability, and seamless teamwork in high-difficulty tasks such as upgrading the central purifier. "This year, the most rewarding achievement isn't just the medals, but witnessing the team members' growth through collaboration and resilience. They've learned to communicate, take responsibility, share, and persevere. These gains beyond trophies are the best gifts for all of us," said Coach Fang Yue after the competition.
